Richard Maguire graduated from Siena College in 1986, Albany Law School in 1989, and has been admitted to practice law since 1990 (29 years). During law school, he received the Capital District Trial Lawyers Prize, the Board of Trustees Prize, the Best Advocate Award and the National Trial Team Best Advocate Award.

As a highly skilled and experienced trial lawyer, Richard has concentrated his practice in civil litigation, medical malpractice, construction law, environmental law and all other matters involving personal injury litigation. Richard has established himself in the greater Capital District and Upstate New York legal community as a top echelon trial lawyer. Richard has successfully obtained jury verdicts for clients in counties across the state. He has been a lecturer at Continuing Legal Education Seminars in trial tactics for experienced litigators, medicine in the courtroom, and expert testimony. He has been published in the New York State Bar Journal as well as the Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section Journal.

As a City Court Judge who served two (2) consecutive six (6) year terms, he was proud to serve his community. He presided over thousands of cases during his twelve (12) years on the bench.

Richard is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Albany County Bar Association, Capital District Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Richard volunteers his time as an attorney coach for the Albany Law School, Siena College, Cohoes High School and Bethlehem High School Mock Trial Teams as well as a coach for little league baseball, basketball at St. Thomas School, and soccer teams in his home town of Bethlehem. Richard has served on the board of directors of Tri-Village Little League, Bethlehem Basketball Club, and the Whitney Young Health Center.

Richard, his wife and two sons live in Delmar, New York.
