Maguire Volunteers at Albany Law School

Richard R. Maguire, Esq. has volunteered to serve as a judge for the Honorable Domenic L. Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition hosted by Albany Law School. The 33rd Annual Competition is named after the distinguished Judge Gabrielli of the NYS Court of Appeals.

Despite the pandemic, the competition will be hosted by remote video to ensure that the students and judges remain healthy.

Maguire is no stranger to volunteering his time to teach the next generation of attorneys. He formed mock trial teams at both Bethlehem High School and Cohoes High School. He has also taught mock trial teams at Albany Law School and Siena College.

While a law student himself, Rich won first prize for the best brief in the Gabrielli Mock Trial Competition during his second year and won first prize as the best advocate in the Senior Prize Trial during his third year. He was also a member of the National Trial Team and was awarded the top advocate in the Northeastern United States.

During his thirty-one (31) years of practice as a trial lawyer, Rich has mentored scores of lawyers and has spoken at conferences and seminars to teach other lawyers the techniques and ethics required of every trial lawyer.
